Training practices on nanomaterials and advanced materials

The Nano-EM OSH Training project is promoted by the Partnership for European Research in Occupational Safety and Health (PEROSH) to develop a guidance for harmonized training modules targeting workers involved in manufacturing, handling, and processing of nanomaterials and emerging materials. We focus on training experiences in the areas of nanomaterials and advanced materials, and more broadly on new materials developments. We are a project consortium composed of Occupational Health and Safety Authorities and organizations dealing with research on safety of nanomaterials and advanced/emerging materials.

Nanomaterials and advanced materials are the source of complex and uncertain risks, and thus need robust, informed, resilient, and precaution-based approaches to risk management. Training of all type of personnel engaged in the research, production, and use of these materials in workplace settings is essential to anticipate and prevent safety and health risks. Based on desk-analysis and our experience in the field, we identified specific needs for professional training on workers safety and health.

As an expert in one or more of the following fields: advanced materials, nanomaterials, risk management, Occupational Health and Safety, training and education activities, your responses are valuable to us. We will keep you updated of project results, and you will receive the final guidance documents developed by the project.

The questionnaire is composed of a series of multiple choices questions, structured on 3 sections:

– Needs and objectives of the training (Q1-Q5)

– Tools and practices (Q6-Q13)

– Your profile (Q14-Q22)

Compilation should take no more than 15-20 minutes.
